Apple's Next Big Launch: Rumored Products and Specs
Apple has been on a product launch spree this week, with six new products already announced (https://9to5mac.com/2026/03/03/apple-has-announced-6-new-products-so-far-this-week/). But the excitement isn't over yet! Here's a breakdown of what's rumored to debut this Wednesday, ahead of Apple's in-person press gatherings (https://9to5mac.com/2026/02/16/apple-announces-special-nyc-event-for-march-4/).
The Low-Cost MacBook or MacBook Neo
Apple has already unveiled the MacBook Air (https://9to5mac.com/2026/03/03/apple-announces-m5-macbook-air-with-2x-storage-n1-wireless-chip-1099-starting-price/) and MacBook Pro (https://9to5mac.com/2026/03/03/apple-launches-new-macbook-pro-with-m5-pro-and-m5-max-chips/) models. But a third, more affordable option is on the horizon. The rumored 'MacBook Neo' (https://9to5mac.com/2026/03/03/macbook-neo-could-be-name-for-low-cost-model-powered-by-iphone-chip/) is expected to be unveiled Wednesday.
This budget-friendly MacBook is said to feature:
- A18 Pro chip
- 12.9-inch display
- 8GB of RAM
- Vibrant color options, reminiscent of the iMac
- Aluminum design
It's designed to attract PC and Chromebook users who already own an iPhone, offering an affordable entry point into the Apple ecosystem.
The iPad with A18 Chip
A new base iPad with the A18 chip has been widely anticipated. While Apple unveiled a new iPad Air (https://9to5mac.com/2026/03/02/apple-unveils-new-ipad-air-with-m4-chip-plus-c1x-and-n1/) earlier this week, the base model might still be in development. However, a Wednesday reveal is still possible.
The new iPad could complement the low-cost MacBook for these reasons:
- Both would feature the A18 chip
- Both are entry-level models in their respective lines
- Both offer a range of fun color options
The A18 chip will enable Apple Intelligence features like AI image creation, writing tools, and Siri upgrades on the base iPad for the first time.
Beyond the A18, the iPad is expected to maintain the design and features of its A16 predecessor.
An N1 wireless chip (https://9to5mac.com/2025/09/22/apple-explains-n1-chips-unique-advantages-in-iphone-17/) might also be a possibility, as Apple has been incorporating it into its new products this week.
Wildcards: New Home Products
Apple is unlikely to unveil more than the low-cost MacBook and iPad tomorrow. However, new Home products could be a surprise.
Rumored products include a new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2, which were initially expected last fall but never materialized.
Another anticipated Home product is the 'HomePad' or 'HomePod Touch' (https://9to5mac.com/2026/02/05/apples-new-homepad-is-my-most-wanted-product-thats-coming-soon/), rumored to be held back until Siri's AI upgrades are ready.
My guess is that all new Home products are waiting for Siri's promised overhaul. Based on recent reports, we might see a launch later this spring, around iOS 26.5, or possibly at WWDC in June.
So, while surprises are possible, don't expect major Home product reveals this week.
