🎵 Greece's Eurovision 2026 Selection: Akylas Takes the Crown 🎵
ERT has unveiled the public vote breakdown for the grand finale of Greece's selection for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, revealing the nation's favorite performer for the upcoming competition in Vienna.
The Greek public cast a total of 162,272 votes, with Akylas emerging as the clear winner, securing over a third of the votes. Akylas will now represent Greece in the prestigious Eurovision stage in Vienna.
Here's a breakdown of the public vote results:
- Stylianos - "You & I": 5,414 votes (2,419 online, 2,995 SMS)
- D3lta - "Mad About It": 17,559 votes (3,935 online, 13,624 SMS)
- Mikay - "Labyrinth": 2,557 votes (1,084 online, 1,473 SMS)
- Marika - "Daughters of the Sun (A, E, I, O, U)": 2,742 votes (983 online, 1,759 SMS)
- Marseaux - "Hanomai" (I'm lost): 11,642 votes (4,279 online, 7,363 SMS)
- Good Job Nicky - "Dark Side of the Moon": 26,995 votes (7,029 online, 19,926 SMS)
- Koza Mostra - "Bulletproof": 4,178 votes (1,593 online, 2,585 SMS)
- Stefi - "Europa": 3,077 votes (1,080 online, 1,997 SMS)
- Rosanna Mailan - "Alma" (Soul): 3,438 votes (1,481 online, 1,957 SMS)
- Evangelia - "Parea" (Friends): 10,227 votes (5,196 online, 5,031 SMS)
- Zaf - "Asteio" (Joke): 7,064 votes (2,640 online, 4,424 SMS)
The grand finale of Sing for Greece 2026, held on February 15, saw a unique voting system. The results were a 50-25-25 split, with international and national juries contributing 25% each, and the remaining 50% coming from the public vote. For the first time, viewers outside Greece were also eligible to vote, adding to the excitement.
Greece's Eurovision journey began in 1974 with Marinella and the iconic song "Krasi, thalassa kai t’agori mou," finishing in 11th place. Over the years, Greece has achieved notable success, including a top 5 finish in 1977 with Paschalis, Marianna, Robert, and Bessy, and a top 3 placing in 2001 with Antique and the hit song "I Would Die For You." In 2005, Helena Paparizou brought Greece its only victory to date with the song "My Number One."
