War-torn businesses in Iran now have a chance to seek additional financial support. The Tax Authority's Compensation Fund has announced a new opportunity for business owners to claim compensation for indirect damage incurred during the months of July and August 2025. This initiative is a result of the approved framework in the Knesset, which aims to provide relief to businesses affected by the war.
But here's where it gets controversial... While the fund is open to all businesses that suffered direct damage due to war events, such as damage from missile fire or blast waves, there are specific criteria that must be met. Business owners whose operations were suspended for a period ending no earlier than July 31, 2025, are eligible for additional compensation for July and August. However, businesses whose operations were suspended beyond August 31 will also be eligible for compensation for September-October and November-December.
This means that businesses that were only affected for a short period of time may not receive the same level of compensation as those that were impacted for a longer duration. This has sparked debate among business owners and experts, who argue that the criteria should be more inclusive to ensure fairness and support for all affected businesses.
So, what do you think? Is the current framework fair and comprehensive enough? Or should the criteria be expanded to include more businesses? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
